Lars brings with him 20 years of senior management experience from the global renewable sector with focus on the wind industry – both onshore as well as offshore.
Lars holds a MBA in “international management” and has through his career worked in both privately hold, private equity as well as public listed companies with turnovers ranging from 0,5 BN Euro up to 5,0 BN Euro.
Since joining the wind industry in 1995 Lars has been working at a senior management level globally within logistics, operations, manufacturing, procurement and operations. He has actively participated in 3 wind OEM mergers and has been deeply involved in a number of M&A’s primarily focussed on downstream companies in the value chain.
Lars has worked for Vestas Wind Systems (previously Micon and NEG Micon) for more than 10 years, he spend more than 6 years with the Suzlon Group ( REPower & Senvion ) and was, for more than 2 years, part of the senior management team at Nordex which successfully restructured the company.
From being responsible for factories in Americas, Asia and Europe to setting up local supply chain to meet local content regulations in various countries combined with introduction of International Procurement Offices in Asia, Lars has in most aspects of a global business been actively involved in all parts of the operational value chain.
After stepping down from his position as COO at Senvion in 2015 he has worked as an independent consultant for a number of component suppliers in the wind industry as well as taken on an interim management position in a private equity owned company in Switzerland.
Lars is a Danish citizen but has lived and worked outside Denmark for the last 10 years. Lars lives and works out of Hamburg, Germany.
In his spare time, Lars is a passionate runner and has completed a large number of half-marathons and marathons since he took up running around 10 years ago after a long soccer career. In addition to that, Lars is very fond of sport in general and especially soccer where he follows the major leagues in Europe very closely.
I worked for Lars Rytter during his role as COO of Senvion. Lars has a deep knowledge of the Wind business, is very well informed on the latest developments and is constantly looking for ways to improve operational efficiencies and create value. He is capable of not only creating strategies but also also executing them operationally. With a polite but firm leadership style and good communication skills, Lars ensured alignment within his teams. Lars is an exceptional leader who played a key role in developing and executing the Blade Strategy for Senvion - this resulted in a significant organizational transformation and expansion of blade manufacturing capacity globally. Lars was also instrumental in driving programs to drive costs down significantly. During his time at Senvion, blades became a competitive differentiator for the company. Lars is a transformational, global leader who enables his teams to deliver exceptional results. It was a pleasure for me to work with Lars.Ramesh Gopalakrishnan | Senior Vice President, Blade Manufacturing, Senvion
I worked together with Lars Rytter in his capacity as Vice President Group Strategic Purchase at Vestas Wind Systems in the period from 2000 to 2005. In that period and in an excellent manner Lars Rytter managed to both deliver the agreed operational results and in parallel develop the group purchase organization both structural and competence wise on a global scale. Lars Rytter possesses both the ability to see and take part in the development of the strategic platform as well as training and motivating an organization and at the same time he can go and do it himself to demonstrate how professional sourcing and supply chain works should be done - all in line with the strategic direction and the operational agreements made. I have followed Lars Rytter since our time of working together and Lars Rytter have developed and utilized his full potential working as an executive officer in a number of companies in the Netherlands and Germany and have also during that period taken responsibility such as CSCO, CPO and COO in global companies within the wind turbine industry. The experience from working with Lars Rytter is in a nutshell that it is great value for money and at the same time it is inspiring and developing working with an individual that is both a team player and a strong executer. I can only fully recommend Lars Rytter if you need a capacity that can bring real sustainable strategic value to your businessKnud Andersen | Former COO at Vestas Wind Systems, now CEO at AH Industries
I worked with Lars at Senvion where he was COO and had responsibility for Supply Chain, Manufacturing Plants and Logistics. During that time I found Lars to be a good work colleague and partner in many joint projects between Engineering and Operations. Lars is a leader in wind, keeping up to date in a very dynamic industry and could be used as a sounding board for new ideas and thoughts. In his time at Senvion, Lars worked hard to secure strategic alliances with suppliers to ensure optimum cost and quality whilst also setting up an Asian Supply base. Lars also worked to rationalize the logistics organization by outsourcing the warehouse management. Lars drove the COO organization forward, but I always found him to be fair and respectful to his work colleagues and peers.Russell B. Stoddart | CTO, Senvion
We have worked closely with Lars since 2013 and have always been impressed by his wind industry knowledge and strategic sourcing and operations insight.Steve Lockhard | CEO & President TPI Composites Inc.
I have known and worked with Lars Rytter since 2006 through his various executive board member positions in my companies in the wind industry (Suzlon & Senvion - former REpower ). I'd appreciate his diligent, open and transparent leadership which positively have benefited the results and achievements in the before mentioned companies. Lars is perceived by his peers as a very hardworking, successful and trustful executive and disposes over an excellent and outstanding network in the industry.Tulsi Tanti | Founder & Chairman Suzlon Energy
I have had the pleasure to work with Lars in some of the leading global wind turbine companies over a period of 11 years. He is a truly international executive with global operational experience and knowledge. In his capacity as an executive responsible for global operations he has been central in managing the ups and downs in the wind industry. As such handling growth as well as cost out projects has been his daily life for many years. He also has a truly commercial understanding of the global wind industry. Lars is always well prepared, factual and to the point. He is outright and open in dealing with people and with almost 2 decades of experience working globally he has a good and respectful multicultural understanding.Per Hornung Pedersen | Former CFO NEG Micon, CEO SUZLON International, CEO REpower (Senvion) , now Renewable Industry Advisor and professional Board Member
During the last decade I have had the pleasure and the challenge of working with Lars as a customer in the wind industry, when Lars has been heading up operations an sourcing departments at key customers of ours. I know Lars as a professional, strategic thinker, with the ability to seek mutually beneficial solutions to complicated situations. Lars keeps his head cool when others tend to lose it, and is therefore often coming with solutions when they are most needed.Sören Höfer | CCO , LM Wind Power
